Q: How many ounces is 5 cups. I drink a 10-12 ounce cup. I'm assuming this makes just around 40 ounces but couldn't find the info.

submitted by hikerperson - 3 years ago
  • A: 25 ounces. Each cup is 5 ounces.

submitted byGourmia - 3 years ago
    Brand expert
  • A: I say 5 ounces. 1 cup equals 8 fl oz with the cup filled to the rim, but how often does that happen? Usually a space is left between the coffee level & the rim. That’s why I’m standing by 5 ounces.

submitted bymamabear - 2 years ago
  • A: One Cup equals 8 fluid ounces; therefore, 5 cups of coffee would equal 40 fluid ounces (per pot). Since you consume 10-12 ounce cup...you can get up to 3-4 cups of coffee per pot! :-D

    Flimsy and finicky

This coffee maker has gotten stuck and flooded the basket several times, making my coffee full of grounds and undrinkable. You have to make sure the lid is locked down, or it won’t release coffee into the carafe, but it often takes more than just locking the lid as intended. I have to stand next to the coffee maker and push on the lid to make sure it starts dripping. Despite that, today it flooded but also somehow got stuck open, so when I tried to take the carafe out to pour coffee, coffee kept pouring onto the burner. Also the buttons on the front being push buttons instead of a switch is annoying. In order to press the button hard enough to turn it on, you have to hold the coffee maker in place with your other hand, otherwise it just slides away from you.

Brew buttons broke after 11 months

I purchased my machine in January and it is now November and both of the brew buttons, the brew now and the brew later, are not responding to my push. This is a huge bummer. I liked the 5 cup capacity of the machine because I am a lone coffee drinker in my home. I would prepare my coffee in the evening for the next morning and press “brew later”. The only issue i had was the issue of inconsistent brew outcomes. I ended up fixing my issue by filling the reservoir slightly over the cups I wanted because water would evaporate while in the machine was in use. I had it down to a science and this little machine is all I really needed.

    Save yourself the trouble

Coffee maker broke after less than 4 months of use. I've purchased coffee makers in this price range before, and they've lasted years. Was truly looking for a model with a simple on/off switch, but bought this one out of desperation. Of course, the buttons are what malfunctioned. Also had a couple times where I had difficulty brewing and somehow ended up with the grounds in my coffee.

    Get what you pay for

Mostly worked until I cleaned it. I must have gotten some water in the panel but I’m not sure how. The panel no longer works and can’t be set. Aside from that, the lid of the pot didn’t always engage the basket spring enough and the basket would overflow leaving us with grounds in the pot and mess to clean up. Not a good long term coffee maker.

    Cute but doesnt last

At first I loved how compact this little coffee machine was. It made the perfect amount of coffee for 2 people. But after month the water just got stuck and started to flood where the coffee grounds were and never actually made it into the carafe. Very sad to say I’m back on the hunt for a coffee maker

    Disaster spill

Well, it’s all about function. You may get a few cups of coffee, but American filters do not fit in here, even the small one. I still have to press the sides down and sometimes it gets knocked over and the coffee goes everywhere so I need to return this. Also, the only way I could turn it off, was to unplug it, which resets the clock. And maybe that was just me but they tried.

    Awful

Biggest issue is the water stopper from the coffee bin does not always engage with the carrafe lid when the pot is sitting in the middle of the pot warmer. This backs the water in the coffee filter causing all kinds of mess and grounds in the coffee. Awful.

Has Not worked since the first attempt!

This is a great compact size however it doesn't work. On the initial run through with hot water, there was no spillover. However as soon as you add grounds to the basket, which is a necessary task when making coffee, the coffee maker does not sense the carafe is in the bottom to initiate the lift of the drain mechanism from the basket. The result is that all of the water is trapped and Spills over in the basket. And before you ask, no I am not using finely ground coffee. I did open the lid and push down on the basket to initiate the drain mechanism. However, the maker has already sent all kinds of grounds into my coffee. I really wish I'd read the reviews before buying this. Going back to buy a Mr Coffee or Keurig.

Needs to do less and do it better

I wanted to buy the version with a physical on switch and no clock but they were sold out so I settled for this one. Predictably the little push button to start brewing is already starting to get worn out. You also have to place the filter just right or else it flows over or folds and you get grounds in the coffee. I knew it wasn’t what I wanted and I was right.

    Epic Failure to Brew

This coffee maker appears to have the perfect compact size with programmable brew time, however, it overflowed the basket, added grounds to coffee, and clean up was not welcome. After 3rd use, and each a failure, I chose to let you know!

    Not Good for Much

This coffee pot only worked for 10 days. Then it didn't drain the water through to make coffee. And the coffee that was made, had grounds in it.

    What time is it

What can I say? It's a coffee maker, and I think it makes a good cup of coffee, but the feature it has is a love-hate for due to the fact that after brewing the coffee, it keeps track of when the coffee finished brewing on the display. I like knowing how old the coffee is. However, I don't like that I can no longer see the time on the display.

    Terrible

Coffee makers are so simple and nobody should be getting it wrong at this point in history! I bought this one to save a few bucks over the Mr. Coffee model and deeply regret it. The coffee is extremely weak. It also always get grounds in the pot. Don't get this!

    Design flaw

Owned for several weeks and has bypassed filter 3 times. Results in grounds getting stuck under plunger. Removing pot results in water continuing to flow onto hot warming tray. Using the smaller filters made for 4-5 cup coffee maker. What a mess, grounds in brewed pot and continues to flow hot mess all over when the pot is removed.
