Q: The brewing button on my coffee maker is flashing. What does this mean and how do I turn it off?
A: It’s possible you held the brew / stop for 3 seconds and activated the clean cycle ~?~ This just happened to me right now .. Unplug the unit wait for the flashing hold button for three seconds and it should shut it off . If not repeat the process. I had to do it twice. I seems it fixed the issue.

Q: Does the clock light up?
A: No it does not. I bought one and it does not light up.

The clock light should not light up. The coffee maker has no backlit display. Only the indicator lights up. The LCD screen shows AM or PM depending on the time. We hope this would help. Q: Hello, does this coffee maker has a 'beep' sound when it finished brewing the coffee?
A: No, this particular model (which I have) does not beep when the coffee is finished brewing. My previous Mr. Coffee did beep when starting, done brewing and shutting down. Only honest answers please.

Q: How long does it take for the plastic smell to go away?

Q: I don't understand the answer to "can I brew just 2 cups". Must I use 12 cups of water & coffee grounds for 12 cups every time, then use autopause if I want 2 cups today? Can't I use 2 cups of water?
A: Hello there! Thank you for your question. You can absolutely brew just 2 cups with the Mr. Coffee 12-Cup Programmable Coffee Maker—you do not need to use all 12 cups of water every time. Simply add 2 cups of water to the reservoir and adjust the amount of coffee grounds accordingly (about 1 to 2 tablespoons per cup, depending on your taste). The machine will brew however much water you add—no need to use the auto-pause feature unless you want to pour a cup before the brew cycle finishes. Q: Is it better to use the filter provided or paper filters? The grounds come up to the top of the paper filters when brewing.

The Mr. Coffee 12-Cup Programmable Coffee Maker (Model BVMC-EHX12BL-115) is compatible with both the included reusable mesh filter and standard basket-style paper filters, so it comes down to personal preference. If you’re noticing that grounds are rising to the top of your paper filters during brewing, it could be due to using very fine grind coffee, overfilling the filter, or not placing the filter properly. Many users prefer the paper filters for easier cleanup and slightly better filtration, while others like the mesh filter for its eco-friendliness and cost savings. If grounds continue to overflow with paper filters, you might try a coarser grind or switch to the mesh filter for a more contained brew.
