A: Its an overflow hole. Its meant to keep you from adding too much water into the machine. Keep the water under that and you'll be fine.

A: Have had this problem with another Cuisinart model, but it was the pods…some pods rip open at the top when you close the lid. I put a small piece of scotch tape over the tops and it solved the problem.

A: Yes, the 42 oz water reservoir for the single-serve side of the Cuisinart SS-16 Coffee Center is removable for easy filling and cleaning. However, the separate 60-ounce reservoir for the 12-cup carafe side is generally not removable.
