  • A: I bought this not because I have pet stains but that I have kids, and they are messy. Some stains I didn't notice until I dedicated an entire day to cleaning my carpet throughout my house, so not sure how long they were there. Every stain I had came out and never came back. I recommend 100%.

  • A: As you noted, this cleaner uses our HeatWave Technology and does not have a water heater in it. HeatWave Technology helps to maintain the temperature of the water placed in the clean tank. We recommend using hot but not boiling or microwaved tap water in the machine.

  • A: I've done it before, make sure you use the express setting so you add less water to the mattress. Be sure to extract as much excess liquid as possible. Once finished allow the mattress to dry for at least 12 hours (leaving moisture can cause mold to form, thus ruining your mattress). I recommend using a box fan on it, to speed up the process of drying

  • A: Hi Lauren! Great question—this model can be confusing based on how specs are listed. The BISSELL ProHeat 2X Revolution Pet Pro Plus (3588) does not use steam at all. The “3 settings” you’re seeing refer to cleaning modes, not steam: Express Clean – lighter clean, faster drying Deep Clean Max Clean – uses more water and formula for heavy soil Because this machine is hot-water extraction only (no steam generation), there are no steam settings to turn on or off, and it’s safe for upholstery that cannot tolerate steam when used as directed with the hose and upholstery tool.

    Perfect for small spaces/pet messes

    I was really excited to get a carpet cleaner. You have to put hot water in it for it to be "proheat" but beside that misunderstanding in the name of the cleaner, it works great. The dirty tank fills up quickly, so it took about 6-7 empties to get a 10x10 living room with high traffic and a few stains clean. But it is so clean! Doing "dry" passes sped up the drying time. For small spaces, highly recommend

    Not Like the Bissell I Replaced

    Actually cleans very well…..BUT when gray water tank gets 1/4 to 1/2 full, the float activates and no more suction.

    Highly Recommend!

    I have used many carpet cleaners in the past and this may be the best one. It sucks up the excess cleaner quite well which decreases dry time. It also cleans carpets extraordinarily well and the attachments are easy to use. The clean up of the machine is easy as the area above the brushes pops off with the click of two buttons. Cannot say enough about this cleaner. Highly recommend!

    Superior Steamer

    Best steamer I’ve used. Got carpet cleaned up with little effort. Also did my 8 white dining chairs that were in desperate need of some TLC. worked better than any other steamer I have tried. Also love that it comes in gold.

    Leaks dirty water!

    Love the machine but it’s a PITA when the dirty water leaks all over what I just cleaned. Very frustrating that I have to set it on a towel whenever I want to use the hose function. Adds more steps and work to a process I already don’t enjoy.

    Cat oders begon!

    Solid use, knocked out some old cat pee stains and orders. Really cleaned out the carpets, rugs, and my couch. Only draw is small water tank but other than that I’m happy. The cleaning agents are cheep to buy and I’m sure you can substitute the Bissell for something else. Worth the cost as it will serve you many years.

    This Bissell has been a lifesaver. Multiple pet messes and no stains. Dark brown on cream carpet had me thinking I was doomed, but after using this carpet cleaner with the pet pro solution, my carpet is spotless. Light weight and easy to use. Once done using the machine, I’ve found I have to move it onto paper towel on my tile floor because there is leftover dirty water on the brushes that can get on the floor.

    I would buy this

    I am very pleased with my Revolution Pet Pro carpet cleaner. I bought it to replace am earlier model Bissell upright. This machine has none of the finicky little tabs and the dirty water tank is much easier to clean. The brush area is accessible and easy to clean. Lastly this machine has an upholstery vacuum and an upholstery cleaner. In addition, there is a bare floor attachment that can be purchased.

    A Smoking/Rattling Carpet Scrubber Return

    I did allot of research on this carpet cheaper. I was very excited to get it. The first time I used it on a 5’x7’ rug I thought I smelled something burning but brushed it off as maybe it was the newness of the motor. The rug wasn’t too dirty but it was brighter when I was done. That was on February 16. I was out of town for 1.5 weeks and she. I came back I tried to clean another rug that was a 5’x7’. This rug was in a spare bedroom and I just wanted to freshen it up like I did with the other. This time it began to smoke and make a loud rattling sound. I immediately turned it off, waited for it to cool fine and put it back in its original to return it. I hoping I will be able to get another scrubber as I think this may have had an electrical problem. The suction was impeccable and I’d like to try another. Thank you! My Mother has this machine and she loves her.

    Just what I needed!

    I am very impressed with this cleaner. It is extremely well- constructed and is simple to use. Unlike my previous carpet cleaner, lots of thought seems to have gone into making this cleaner easy to handle and maintain. The assembly instructions as well as the cleaning instructions are very user friendly. Finally, it does an amazing job of cleaning my carpets. I haven’t tried it on upholstery yet, but I expect the same excellent results. I wish I had the stair cleaning attachment, but it’s not in my budget just yet.

    BEST Non-Pro Steam Cleaner Available...

    I've long liked Bissell products, but this has by far been my favorite. My job is maintenance for a large apartment building, and many of them have carpets. Some tenants are so gross, nothing could save the carpets. For all others, this machine has saved me MUCH extra work, keeping me from having to do carpet replacement. With 3 heat/cleaning settings, a Powershot function that squirts a straight line of fluid onto specific spots, and GREAT suction power that allows the carpets to dry in just a couple hours, I've made carpets seeming lost come back to life. Using Oxy-based solution to prespray tough spots is something I find works great. From cat pee soaked floors, to quite dirty looking ones, this machine has left many people amazed. Spray going forward slowly, then pull back twice very slowly twice, and the result is shocking for a non-pro machine... I also use the attachment hose feature to clean my cars, and I can make a dirty one look new...

    Not impressed

    Broken belt on first bedroom leaving me unable to finish just one room. I followed all directions and prepped the room well. Its also a loud machine and i wear ear protection. Removing the belt cover per instructions broke a tab on the cover. Machine is also very aggressive on soft high pile carpet with no way to turn off or even adjust the brushrolls.

    Just in Time!

    We are expecting a new puppy sometime this summer and we need to be prepared for those puppy accidents! Also, our old cleaner (not a Bissell) just bit the dust, so we have had the chance to try the new one out for our current puppy. So far, so good! Deep cleans, smells great, and much more quiet than the last one.
